Our Fall Celebration

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it: the weather, the foods, and the holidays. Img_0513 Friday we had our fall celebration. Students were allowed to wear costumes of story book characters. I had everything from pirates to princesses, superheroes to baseball players all in my room at the same time. The students were eager to show off their costumes to their friends. With all the excitement, the students were well-behaved throughout the day. I had some complaints about being hot but parents planned ahead and packed an extra set of clothes for the students to change into.

Img_0504_2 For our fall celebration, I decided to set up seven centers for the students to visit. Luckily I had five moms show up to help me! I could not have gotten through the day without the help of all the moms. I set the centers up for the students to come and go as they pleased. I had many holiday games for the students to play. The moms help with enforcing the rules of the games. I also had centers for the students to work alone or with a buddy. If you would like a list of the games the students were Img_0510playing, please write me in the comment center below.

Img_0508 One of my favorite centers is the cookie decorating table. With a help of a parent, the students added frosting and sprinkles to a sugar cookie. The students have a blast licking the frosting and eating the sprinkles along the way. Another center Img_0507I was creating a pumpkin. The students traced and cut out a pumpkin. The students then added paint to create a face to the pumpkin.

Overall, I had a great day. The students were of course a little more hyper then usually but for the most part they were well behaved and listened to all the directions. I could not have survived the day without the help of all the moms. They helped keep things organized and helped with last minute game making. Throughout the day, I talked to the students about staying safe while trick-or-treating. We also ready many stories and I actually had a mom read to the students as well!
