A Heartfelt Thank You

I just wanted to take this time to share with my colleagues some exciting news. Today I was surprised at school by Lowell Milken of the Milken Family Foundation with an amazing honor.  I was presented with a check for $25,000 and an opportunity to attend their national education conference.

The purpose of the Milken Foundation is to provide recognition to educators throughout the country.  I just wanted to recognize all the amazing educators I have had the privilege to get to know throughout my career.  Teachers truly inspire future leaders and if it weren't for a teacher inspiring me, I wouldn't be here today!

Thank you Scholastic for providing teachers across the country a forum to exchange ideas and for giving our students experiences that take them beyond the classroom walls!
