Word Banks

Each time I introduce a unit I create a word bank.  Whether it is math, science, or language arts, we create a word bank.  Students use the words in their writing, poetry and to aid with comprehension when reading.  We constantly refer to the words throughout the unit.  Students can easily see the connection between the base word with prefixes and suffixes.  They also see words related to the topic as well as a visual aid.  It's a quick and easy visual organizer that helps build vocabulary skills.
