@gthomas - No, you don't get paid. But you get great experience as a journalist if you're selected as a Kid Reporter!

can you do it youre about to move.

@averi - Yes, you can still apply if you're about to move.

Do you miss school if you're picked? Cuz I can't do it if I do...

I want to be one

If you get in, do YOU give the reporters assignments or do we have to come up with them ourselves? I noticed that many articles were written by the same group of people.

I really don't have a printer please except one written. I really want to apply for this though please answer back.

i was wondering if the article that we to write has to be can be about an project that we aredoing in school. If so can we interview a teacher? and does the essay have to be exactly 250 words?

hi i would like to be a reporter for the scholastic news!some day i wil be a reporter for the president maybe this could help me write to me please!

when is it over

@em - If you're picked, you might be asked to do an assignment that happens during the school day. But school is the most important thing and we try to make sure we don't ask you to miss any school.

@Grace - As a Kid Reporter, you get story assignments from me but you will also need to submit story ideas to me, too — just like an adult journalist!

@Calnan - Can you go to a local library and print your application there? If you can't, then please send in your hand-written application. But just know that if you're selected as a Kid Reporter, you will need to submit electronic versions of all your stories.

@celeste - Your article can be about anything you think is newsworthy. And you should interview anyone you think is worth talking to for your story. And yes, please keep your story to 250 words or fewer.

@hunter - When is what over, the application or your time as a Kid Reporter?

Hi! I was wondering, if you are selected, how long you stay on? I noticed some of the reporters this year have been doing it for several years while others only do it for one.

What is the age range?

I'm turning 10 in October. Can I still apply? Also, when is the deadline of this and when would you start?

What are you looking for in the article. Is there a specific rubric you will be using, and if so what?

i love it

if it's late is it exepted

When are the kid reporters announced? I know it said that they say them in early november, but is there an exact date?

Yes 11 years.

When do you announce the new kid reporters?

when will the results be posted and where? thanks.!

For everyone who has asked about when we will announce the new Kid Reporters: We don't have a specific date, but we will announce the new Kid Reporters sometime after Election Day and before Thanksgiving. Hope that helps.

When are the 2013-14 applications coming out? I would also was wondering if there was any way of letting me when they come out.
Im really intrested in applying
Anything will help.
Thanks

Will you guys let us know if we were excepted before you announce them on the website? Like through a email or a phone call of some kind?

When and how can the appliers know the result of who got chosen?
