If the concept of social networking is appealing for your school, but you can’t deal with the insecurity and frivolous nature of Twitter and other programs, think Emodo. Like Twitter and FaceBook, Emondo lets teachers connect with students but uses a full keyboard and excels at being able to send out assignments, access to additional learning resources and feedback. It can also house a school’s calendar and other common information. The service currently has 200,000 users.
