What would happen in the Gulf oil spill happened again? Dawn and Discovery Education have teamed up to create lesson plans for teaching about the environment and pollution. There are activities for oil spills, wildlife rehabilitation and helping injured wildlife that are available in English and Spanish. Each has detailed instructions and explanations as well as Web links for more info. It’s all sponsored by Dawn dishwashing liquid, which is used to clean oil off of birds fouled by an oil spill. The online lessons are aimed at third- through fifth-graders and if you fill out a survey on the program, they’ll send you a free gift.
