When you want
it or not, Windows 8 is coming and by the end of October the entire IT
landscape will be different. Along with others, Samsung has shown its first Win
8 systems, including the Series 5 Slate, which combines an 11.6-inch screen
with an Intel Atom processor and 2GB of memory. It has 64GB of flash memory
storage, wireless networking and despite having a bigger screen than the iPad,
weighs 1.6 pounds. It costs $650 and has an optional $100 keyboard dock.
