Every day can be a teachable moment if
you know what happened on that particular day. TeacherVision has a free online
calendar that has several entries for each day, regardless of whether school is
in session or not. For instance, today was the first time a diabetic patient
was successfully treated with insulin, the perfect introduction for a biology
class to talk about digestion, sugar balance and the islets of Langerhans. Each item has a link to
supporting data that a lesson plan can be built around. The calendar can be
printed but you can’t add your own items.
