Meet the $150 Notebook
At $150, I’m
not sure you’ll see a mini-notebook cheaper than Craig’s CLP281a. More than
today’s answer to netbooks, it is an alternate way to put a small, but powerful
computer in the hands of students without breaking the budget. The CLP281a
combines a 7-inch 800 by 480 screen with a 1.3GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB
of storage space, which can be augmented with up to a 32GB SD card for extra
storage space. It comes with 802.11n WiFi as well as a wired LAN port, three
USB 2.0 ports and a Web cam. But it takes a different route when it comes to
software because this mini-notebook uses the latest Android 4.0 operating
system and apps.
