Three of a Kind
Using its
Titanium series of tablets as a starting point, Archos has revamped them as the
Platinum family of slates. All have sleek aluminum cases, powerful quad-core processors, come
with 2GB of RAM built-in and use Android 4.1 software. They diverge into three
slates for different purposes and activities:
- With an 8-inch screen, the 80 Platinum will compete directly with the iPad Mini and cost $200
- The 97 Platinum model will have a 9.7-inch display and go up against the full iPad with an ultrasharp 2,048 by 1,536 resolution screen; it’ll cost $300.
- The top of the line 116 version will have an HD-ready 1,920 by 1,080 resolution 11.6-inch screen and sell for $350.
