It's Fire Prevention Week!

Tf_nfpa_generic_0809 This election year, Sparky the Fire Dog® is on a nationwide campaign to help students and their families learn how to prevent home fires.  During Fire Prevention Week, share these fire-safety lessons, quizzes, and printables for grades K-5 to help bring fire-safety awareness to your class, your school, and your community.

Students can help Sparky make sure the White House is fire-safe. Enter your students' artwork and speeches in the Fire Prevention Art & Writing Contest for a chance to be featured on Scholastic.com. Entries must be postmarked by October 20, 2008.

Tech Tutor Gayle Berthiaume shares more resources for teaching fire prevention -- the web-savvy way. [Tech Tutors]
